Looking at Jeremy Pope’s 30ft hand-painted Balmain cape above, made by, allegedly,70 seamstresses of  5,000m silk chiffon, gives you a pretty clear image of what went down at the 2023 Met Gala. But, beside, this obvious yet exquisite reference to the honoree, Karl Lagerfeld’s work, there were numerous other appearances that left us speechless, not all of them for good reasons. Let’s just say that Jared Leto’s Halloweeny Choupette costume made us feel a little uncomfortable and Irina Shayk’s shoe choice wasn’t the wisest.
